My penultimate contribution to On Landscape has just been published in Issue 329. It concerns the man made channels used for irrigation water in the Valais Canton of Switzerland which in French are known as Bisses. The text describes the occurrence and history of the bisses and includes some images of water taken while walking the length of different bisses.
